DALLAS @ NY GIANTS (DAL -6, 45.5)
NFL ODDS, NFL PREDICTIONS, NFL PREVIEWS
COWBOYS @ GIANTS 9/26/24
Last season, the Dallas Cowboys easily defeated the New York Giants twice. The most notable victory came in a primetime game at the Meadowlands where the Cowboys defeated the Giants 40-0. Tonight, Dallas will return to the scene for a primetime matchup with the Giants at MetLife Stadium.
Dallas has won the previous six meetings and 13 of the previous 14 with New York. In last year’s season opener, Giants supporters jeered the Cowboys throughout the game, and by the middle of the second quarter, Dallas was up 26-0.
Dallas (1-2) hasn't played like that this season. The Cowboys were thrashed by the New Orleans Saints following their victory over the Cleveland Browns in the season opener. The Cowboys then suffered a deceptive 28-25 loss to the visiting Baltimore Ravens last week. The Cowboys were down 28-6 before scoring 19 points in the fourth quarter to make the game appear closer than it was.
Dallas linebacker DeMarcus Lawrence was not happy with his team's 22-point deficit at home. He and the rest of the Cowboys need to get back on track and the Giants might be exactly what the doctor ordered.
New York (1-2) secured its first win of the season last Sunday, defeating Cleveland 21-15. Daniel Jones passed for a season-high 236 yards and scored two touchdowns for the second straight game. The Giants, who opened the season with two losses, now have a shot at being .500. Standing in the way is Dallas which, as mentioned, owns the Giants. In the other meeting from last season, Dallas prevailed 49-17.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has thrown for an NFL-high 851 yards and four touchdowns. In addition, Prescott has been sacked nine times and thrown two interceptions so far this season. The Cowboys are having a tough time running the football. Rico Dowdle leads all rushers with 88 yards and Ezekiel Elliott has 62. The Cowboys average just 73.7 rushing yards per game, good for 30th in the NFL.
Defensively, fourth-year standout Micah Parsons only has 12 tackles and 1 sack. In his first three seasons, he totaled 40.5 sacks for the Cowboys. The Giants will have a tough time against the Dallas defense. New York’s offense averages 15 points per game. That ranks 29th in the NFL.
Malik Nabers, a rookie wide receiver, has 271 yards receiving. He has accounted for 45 percent of Jones' 600 yards of passing yardage. Nabers has three receptions for touchdowns.

FREE PICK: DAK PRESCOTT OVER 23.5 COMPLETIONS
What do you do when you can’t run the football? Throw it. Dallas ranks 29th in rushing grade through three weeks of the 2024 NFL season. They only average 73.7 rushing yards per game. That ranks 30th. The Cowboys run defense leaves a lot to be desired too. That has forced Dallas to play catch up and that means more balls in the air for Prescott. In the last two weeks, Prescott has completed 27 and 28 passes. In last year’s games, Prescott completed 23 and 26 against the Giants and should have similar success tonight against a Giants pass defense that gives up a 70 percent opponent completion percentage.
