Phoenix will be without Kevin Durant for the next 7+ days and of course Devin Booker will be the main recipient of increased production. I’m not afraid of this being a public play because Booker had taken a backseat to Durant in recent games, including us fading him successfully last week. However, the supporting cast without Durant and Beal is just simply mediocre at best. D-Book will compete and I see no reason he doesn’t shoot 25+ times tonight. He will score the rock early and often. With his efficiency and ability to get to the free throw line, a line of 26.5 is way too low. His normal lines are 24.5 and Durant’s absence is worth way more than just 2 points on his line. Bookmakers have this one wrong. He should feast against this Bucks defense that is trending in the wrong direction, giving up 129 points per game over the last 3 games. Lock in Devin Booker OVER 26.5 Points!
NBA: Josh Giddey (Bulls) OVER 35.5 PRA (pts, rebs) assts)
We stay in the NBA for free pick #2 where I like Josh Giddey of the Bulls to go OVER 35.5 PRA. Yesterday in the comments as we waited for the live NBA Player Performance show I told you guys to take Giddey OVER his PRA line of 32.5 at the time, which cashed against OKC despite my VIP line taking a bad beat and losing by 2.5 PRA with him sitting out the final 15 minutes of the blowout. But that means he’s well rested in this back to back against the Raptors. Giddey has recently dropped performances of 42, 43, and 50 PRA in the last few games and I see no slowing down. He’s playing confident basketball and his usage rate is way up since the departure of Zach LaVine. In three games against Toronto this season he’s averaging 31.7 PRA. Yet, oddsmakers post his line well above this and above his season average. Line functionality speaks volumes on Giddey’s lines lately. Take Josh Giddey OVER 35.5 PRA!
MLB: Corbin Burnes (Diamondbacks) OVER 5.5 K's
To Major League Baseball we go where things are red hot to start the 2025 season! Torpedo bats and all we roll into a fresh season of plentiful profits and data abundance. We smashed Kyle Hart OVER 3.5 strikeouts last night and tonight I look to newly acquired Corbin Burnes of the Diamondbacks to go OVER 5.5 strikeouts against the Yankees lineup. The public is drooling over New York after their slugfest series versus the Brewers and the onslaught of the torpedo bat saga. I’m not buying this as an easy matchup tonight. Burnes has faced the Yankees a ton in his time with Baltimore and he ranked 20th in strikeouts last season. Burnes has nasty stuff and current Yankees hitters have struck out 34% of the time against him. That means if he gets through the lineup twice (which he will easily do), he should hit this number tonight based on historical numbers. In his one start at Yankee Stadium last season he dominated with 9 K’s while on an extreme pitch count of just 70 pitches. I have him projected for 85-90 pitches tonight.
