Klay Thompson (Mavericks) UNDER 17.5 Points
Let’s jump right in. For the first free play I want you guys to lock in on the Mavericks vs Nuggets Friday night NBA matchup. This really should be a great game between two playoff rosters. I expect more defense to be played than not, in a game that Denver will play up to the moment in a lively Friday night environment at home. Luka Doncic is out for the Mavs and player prop lines are up for guys like Klay Thompson, with his points total sitting at O/U 17.5. Yes, he’s going to get up more shots than he typically does but I don’t think he gets to this number. Denver is ranked 4th in the NBA in opponent 3-pt percentage and they are going to run Klay off the line tonight, making him put the ball on the floor or dish it. I really like the under here for a guy averaging 14 points/game on the season. Lastly, Klay has only played in one career game without Doncic and what did he do? Scored just 5 points on 1 for 11 shooting, or 9% from the field. He relies on Luka to open the floor. Take Klay Thompson UNDER 17.5 Points!
Kyle Kuzma (Wizards) OVER 1.5 Made 3PT
For free play #2 I want you guys to take Kyle Kuzma of the Wizards to go OVER 1 & ½ made three pointers. This line has good value for a guy that averaged 2.2 and 2.5 made threes the last 2 seasons of his career. Kuzma’s shooting percentages are down but I think he’ll be chucking against this Celtics team. He’s still putting up 6 three point attempts/game and has gone over this line in 4 of his last 6 games. If Washington wants to keep up with Boston they’ll need to be driving and kicking with some knock down three opportunities. Lastly, the added value here is a bonus because Kuzma went 0/5 from three in his game earlier this season against Boston. Expect a nice bounceback game from a guy putting up 17 points/game. Last year against the Celtics he averaged three made 3-pointers/game. Lock in Kyle Kuzma OVER 1.5 made 3-PT!
Domantas Sabonis (Kings) OVER 17.5 Points
For free play #3 we go to the Clippers hosting the Kings. Another solid Western Conference matchup. I like Domontas Sabonis to go OVER 17.5 points. Sabonis is averaging 20.2 PPG so far this season and he didn’t mind matching up against Zubac earlier this year. He put up 23 points on 9 of 12 shooting. And his last time facing the Clippers last year he also dropped 22. I expect Sabonis to get to the free throw line 5+ times tonight meaning the over is even more in play. The Clippers are in the bottom half of the NBA when it comes to defending the center position and Sabonis is only getting better. The big man is even shooting 40% from three this season, averaging 1 made three-pointer per game. There are just so many ways for Sabonis to cash the over here. Lock in OVER 17.5 points!
