UCF UNDER 77.5
These two teams played a Big 12 game back on Feb. 5. Cincinnati won that game 93-83. Tonight's game probably won't be like that one. It won't feature as many possessions and likely won't be as high scoring.
UCF will not have its best player, Keyshawn Hall. Hall was UCF's leading scorer and the leading scorer in the Big 12 averaging 18.8 points per game. Hall entered the transfer portal and is one of the most sought after players in the nation. Six other Knights also entered the portal.
The Knights will go up against one of the better defenses in the nation. Cincinnati ranks 24th in the country in scoring defense allowing 65.3 points per game. On Tuesday, the Bearcats held DePaul to 61 points in an 83-61 victory.
F likes to play fast. They rank fifth in the nation in possessions per game. In their 76-75 win over Oregon State on Tuesday, the Knights didn't play as fast. The game featured 69 possessions, which is well below UCF's average of nearly 75 per game for the season.
The Knights like to shoot the three as well. The problem with that is UCF is a mediocre 3PT shooting team (33.6%) and Cincinnati defends the three very well. In the game back in February, Cincy held UCF to 5-of-22 shooting from behind the arc.
The Bearcats defense, a relatively slower pace, and UCF being down a few key players, leads me to the Knights team total. It will be hard for UCF to get into the mid-70s tonight.
