VIRGINIA TECH @ MIAMI (MIA -17.5, 53.5)
MIAMI TEAM TOTAL OVER 34.5
Miami has dominated thus far this season, starting 4-0 SU and ATS for the first time since 2016. The offense is a well-oiled machine. QB Cam Ward (No. 2 in the nation in passing yards) leads the country's No. 2 passing offense (405 ypg). Miami is second in the FBS in scoring, averaging 51 points per game
Virginia Tech's defense ranks outside the Top 65 in pass success rate. They also rank in the bottom 50 against the run. Don't be surprised if Miami attacks the Hokies on the ground tonight. The 'Canes have scored 41, 56, 62, and 50 points in their four games. Some of the competition wasn't that great, but don't forget that Miami is at home tonight in primetime.
The Over has cashed in 6 of Miami's last 7 games and each of their last 5 home games. I don't trust Virginia Tech's offense, but I do like Miami's. There isn't a big price difference in Miami's team total at 35.5 compared to 34.5. Buy the extra point to get under 35.
WASHINGTON @ RUTGERS (RUT -1.5, 44.5)
UNDER (1H) 23
It's a Big Ten matchup in New Jersey tonight. Both of these teams are pretty good defensively. Washington's run defense is a little suspect, but the Huskies do give up just 90 yards per game on the ground. Both of these teams also rank in the Top 40 in scoring defense.
Washington's last five games have all gone Under the game total. Non-Saturday Power conference games over the last 20 seasons have cashed on the Under 56 percent of the time. I would expect both of these teams to be cautious early. Rutgers runs the ball on 66 percent of its plays anyway and Washington will likely try to establish the run as well.
Rutgers only allows 5 first-half points per game so far this season. Washington allows 8.3. I think the defenses will rule this game early on, which makes the first half Under the play.
NY METS @ MILWAUKEE (NYM -123, 7.5)
METS F5 ML
The Mets have won Sean Manaea's last 8 starts in a row. Manaea is in great form. His ERA in the month of September is 2.36. He goes up against a Milwaukee lineup that hasn't been anything special against lefties this month.
New York is currently tied with Arizona for the No. 2 wild card in the National League. The Mets will go up against Milwaukee's Frankie Montas. Since being acquired by the Brewers, Montas has started 10 games and he's 3-3 with a 4.56 ERA. In his last start, Montas got tagged for 7 earned runs in just 2.2 innings.
Manaea is one of the most profitable F5 pitchers in baseball. For the season, he's 16-7-4 on the F5 moneyline. The Mets continue their march to the playoffs. Back Manaea early.
