MISSOURI @ ALABAMA (BAMA -16.5, 50.5)
MISSOURI TEAM TOTAL UNDER 17.5
This one opened at Alabama -8.5, but the status of Missouri QB Brady Cook sent bettors flocking to the Crimson Tide. Cook suffered an ankle injury last week and is listed as questionable for today's game. With Alabama coming off a loss to Tennessee you can bet the Tide will be dialed in today. They can't afford a third loss this season. The last time Alabama lost three games in a season was 2010.
Since Missouri joined the SEC, they've played Alabama four times. The Tigers lost all four games and the most points they scored on the Tide was 19. Today with an injured Cook or backup Drew Pyne, I think Missouri will have a tough time putting points on the board. The Tigers struggled last week against Auburn after Cook was hurt. Missouri ended up winning 21-17. I think Alabama has their way with the Tigers offense and keeps them Under this number.
NEW MEXICO @ COLORADO STATE (CSU -6.5, 62.5)
NEW MEXICO +6.5
Coach Rick loves good coaches and New Mexico's Bronco Mendenhall fits the bill. His Lobos have won three straight and they have scored 50 or more points in each victory. Since their loss to Fresno State, the Lobos have averaged 289 rushing yards per game. That will help keep the ball away from Colorado State's offense.
The Rams offense will be without star WR Tory Horton who is done for the season. That will further limit CSU's offense. On defense, the Rams rank in the bottom 20 in Defensive EPA per play and Success Rate. Colorado State allows opponents nearly 29 points per game.
New Mexico is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games. Colorado State hasn't been good against the number. The Rams are just 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 games. New Mexico is on the road, but I think they can, at the very least, keep this one close.
FLORIDA STATE @ MIAMI (MIA -21, 54.5)
MIAMI TEAM TOTAL OVER 37.5
Florida State has won three straight in this series. At 1-6 this season, don't expect that streak to continue. It's been a disaster for the Seminoles this year. The offense has really struggled. FSU averages just 15 points per game (they've scored more than 20 points just once) and ranks 129th in the nation in total offense. The 'Noles offense will struggle to stay on the field.
That means a very talented Miami offense will have plenty of opportunities to score. Miami ranks No. 2 in the nation in scoring, averaging 48.3 points per game. The Hurricanes have scored 38 or more points in all seven of their games this season. I think they'll hit at least that number again tonight.
