NORTHWESTERN @ PURDUE (PUR -1.5, 44.5)
PURDUE -1.5
This one opened at Northwestern -1.5 and has now flipped in favor of the Boilermakers. That is telling us something. If you recall, Coach Rick coached Purdue QB Ryan Browne, who has started the last two games for the Boilermakers. The offense has been much better with him under center. Head coach Ryan Walters announced that both Browne and Hudson Card will play today. Browne should play more just because he brings an energy that Card does not.
Northwestern has struggled on offense and is just 1-4 SU in its last five games. The Wildcats have been awful against the number too, going just 1-6 ATS in their last seven. Purdue had 15 days off to get ready for this one. They're at home and I like them to get their first win over an FBS program this season.
TEXAS A&M @ SOUTH CAROLINA (A&M -3, 44)
SOUTH CAROLINA +3
South Carolina is just a few plays away from being 6-1. Instead, the Gamecocks are 4-3 and in a great spot here tonight. They have had 15 days to get ready for a Texas A&M team that is coming off a huge win over LSU last week. It's the perfect letdown spot. The Aggies are on the road facing a team that, on paper, they should beat.
The Gamecocks offense struggles, especially without QB LaNorris Sellers. However, Sellers is healthy and expected to play. Texas A&M has not been great against the number. The Aggies are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games. South Carolina, on the other hand, is 5-1 ATS in their last six. Keep in mind that SEC underdogs are 26-11 ATS this season. I like the upset as the Gamecocks catch the Aggies at the right time and at home.
KENTUCKY @ TENNESSEE (TEN -17.5, 45.5)
DYLAN SAMPSON 110+ RUSHING YARDS
Coach Rick loves Tennessee first-half spreads, but the Vols have been shutout in the first half of each of their last three games. Kentucky has a pretty good defense even though they have been gashed recently and lost three straight. You might look at Kentucky +10.5 in the first half, but there is a different play I really like.
Kentucky gave up 326 rushing yards in their last game against Auburn. Tennessee has the No. 6 rushing attack in the country. The Vols average over 231 yards rushing per game. They are led by RB Dylan Sampson, who averages 119 per game. Sampson has six 100-yard rushing games and he has cleared 110 yards five times, including in each of his last three games.
