SAN DIEGO @ LA DODGERS (LAD -155, 7.5)
F5 UNDER 4.5
It all comes down to this. Game 5 of the NLDS. Yu Darvish starts for the Padres. Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start for the Dodgers. This will be Darvish's fifth start against LA this season. In four games, Darvish pitched 22.2 innings and has a 1.58 ERA. His last start against the Boys in Blue was in Game 2 of this series. Darvish pitched 7 innings and allowed just 1 earned run in a 10-2 Padres victory.
Yamamoto will probably only pitch a few innings and then turn it over to Jack Flaherty, who went 4-1 with a 3.18 ERA since being acquired by the Dodgers. Flaherty will go a few innings and then leave it up to the bullpen. In an elimination game, I think runs will be hard to come by as these pitchers duke it out.
UNLV @ UTAH STATE (UNLV -18.5, 66.5)
UNLV -18.5
If you haven't watched UNLV this season, you should. The Go-Go offense is fun to watch and it can put up some points. The Rebels are probably better now that Hajj-Malik Williams has taken over at quarterback. After the whole Matthew Sluka thing, Williams is now the UNLV starter and he has 6 TD passes and 2 rushing TDs in his two starts. He's also averaging 290 yards of total offense per game.
Utah State is 1-4 and their defense is terrible. The Aggies rank 132nd in scoring defense, allowing 41.4 points per game. UNLV's bread and butter is the run. The Aggies haven't stopped anybody on the ground. They allow 238 rushing yards per game. UNLV should have a field day and pull away in the second half.
UTAH @ ARIZONA STATE (UT -5.5, 47)
UNDER 47
Cam Rising is expected to start at quarterback for the Utes. That should do wonders for Utah mentally. Regardless, the Utes will dominate both lines of scrimmage in this one. Arizona State is pretty lucky to be 4-1. Three of their four wins are by one score and they are dead last in the nation in Finishing Drives. That points to some negative regression for the Sun Devils.
Utah's defense ranks 22nd in scoring defense, allowing 18.8 points per game this season. The Utes rank No. 2 in Defensive Success Rate. They defend the run and the pass very well. Arizona State has a strong running game, but so did Oklahoma State before they played Utah. The Utes held last year's NCAA leading rusher Ollie Gordon to just 42 yards earlier this season. The Under has cashed in 6 of Utah's last 7 games and it looks like tonight's game is headed in that direction.
