Corbin Burnes starts for Arizona against his old team, the Brewers. Burnes has not pitched all that well to start 2025. He's 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA, which is uncharacteristic of an elite pitcher like Burnes. In his last start against Washington, Burns walked four batters and ended up allowing four earned runs.
What Burnes doesn't have is very good numbers against his former teammates. It's a small sample size, but Burnes has not fared well against Milwaukee hitters. He's got an xSLG of .621 and an xBA of .316. He's pitching at home at Chase Field which is one of the more hitter-friendly ballparks in the majors.
the other side, Chad Patrick starts for the Brewers. He has pitched well for Milwaukee. He's 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA. The Brewers won both of his starts. He has allowed just one earned run in 10 innings of work across the two starts. Patrick is facing a tough DBacks lineup that ranks 6th in runs, 7th in batting average, 4th in slugging, and 4th in OPS.
The Brewers bullpen is awful. Only the Rockies and Angels are worse. Milwaukee's bullpen ERA is 6.09. Add it up and add in that Arizona lost 7-0 last night and you've got a great recipe for the Over tonight.
