David Festa will start tonight for the Twins. He struggled in spring training and then started the season in the minors. He didn't pitch all that well in Triple-AAA and had a 5.40 ERA before being called up to the Twins.
Festa has started two games this season for Minnesota. He hasn't pitched into the fifth inning yet, but he's pitched a total of 9 innings and has yet to allow an earned run. Festa has good strikeout numbers too with 10 in the two starts.
Tonight, he faces a White Sox lineup that is just garbage. Chicago ranks at or near the bottom of just about every offensive category. They are 30th in batting average, slugging percentage, and team OPS.
he bottom line is that Chicago just can't produce runs. The White Sox team total for tonight is 3.5 runs. Chicago has gone Under that number in 9 of its last 10 games and in 18 of its 23 games this season. The Twins bullpen ranks in the upper half of MLB in ERA. They should help Festa finish the job.
