This game got rained out yesterday. Today, the two teams will play a doubleheader and Game 1 will feature yesterday's starters. That said, we'll stick with our original Quick Pick.
The Orioles have the absolute worst pitching situation in all of baseball. The entire pitching staff - starters and relievers - has a collective ERA of 5.32. The bullpen ranks 24th in ERA and tonight's starter, Brandon Young, has an ERA of 6.75.
Young only has one start this season and it was not a good one. He lasted just 4 innings against the Cincinnati Reds. He got tagged for 7 hits, one home run, walked 3, and gave up a total of 3 earned runs.
Detroit has been pretty solid against right-handed pitching, especially at home. The Tigers are hitting .245 vs. RHP overall and they have a .760 OPS against righties at home. Put that together with a low strikeout rate and that's part of the reason why the Tigers are 10-3 SU at Comerica Park.
Casey Mize gets the start for the Tigers. He has been outstanding so far in 2025. He's 3-1 and has a 2.22 ERA. Mize is one of the more profitable pitchers on the F5 moneyline this season. The Tigers are 3-1 on the F5 moneyline in his starts.
For the season, Detroit is 14-9-2 on the F5 moneyline. At Comerica Park, the Tigers are 9-2-2 on the F5 moneyline. Look for Mize to take care of business after the Tigers had the day off yesterday.
CINCINNATI @ COLORADO (CIN -190, 10.5)
HUNTER GREENE OVER 7.5 STRIKEOUTS
Greene gets the start today for the Reds. He's 2-2 with a 2.35 ERA, but he's coming off his worst start of the season. Last Saturday at Baltimore, Greene lasted just three innings. He gave up 3 homers and 5 ER in a 9-5 loss to the Orioles.
In his career, he has started two games at Coors Field. Neither went that well and he gave up a total of 10 ER. However, he did strike out 14 batters in 14.1 IP. The Rockies have the highest strikeout rate in baseball and whiff an average of 10.56 times per game. I like Greene to cut down the Rockies today.
