LA DODGERS @ ATLANTA (ATL -110, 8.5)
BRAVES ML
Charlie Morton gets the start for Atlanta tonight. He has pitched very well as of late. Morton has allowed 2 earned runs or fewer in 5 of his last 6 starts. Atlanta is 4-2 in those games. Morton gives Atlanta the clear pitching advantage tonight over the Dodgers' Walker Buehler.
Buehler is just 1-5 on the season and he has a 5.64 ERA. He gave up 5 ER in 5 IP in a loss to the Cubs his last time out. He gave up 2 home runs for the second straight game. Atlanta also has the bullpen advantage. Braves relievers have a collective ERA of 2.27 and the best xFIP in baseball. The Dodgers have just one win in their last five games. Atlanta is 9-4 against LA in the last 13 at Truist Park.
LA RAMS @ ARIZONA (ARI -1.5, 47.5)
COOPER KUPP OVER 7.5 RECEPTIONS
This line flipped from the Rams -2. That was primarily due to injuries. The Rams lost two starting offensive linemen and WR Puka Nacua. All three were placed on injured reserve and will miss at least four weeks.
The Rams have owned this series. They are 13-2 SU in the last 15 against the Cardinals. LA is also 5-1 ATS in the last six games against Arizona. I'll stay away from sides though and, like Matthew Stafford today, I will take what is given to me. With Nacua out, Stafford will look more for Cooper Kupp just as he did late in last week's loss to Detroit. Kupp ended up with 14 catches for 110 yards and a TD. Kupp will be the go-to guy again today and go Over this prop.
CHICAGO @ HOUSTON (HOU -6.5, 45.5)
TEXANS -6.5
It's a matchup of young quarterback talent in this one and we all know which guy is better. Caleb Williams threw for 93 yards last week and ended up with a passer rating of 55.7. If you don't know anything about passer ratings, just know that one is bad.
CJ Stroud, on the other hand, went 24-for-32 for 234 yards and two touchdowns in leading Houston to a win over AFC South Division rival Indianapolis. The bigger thing in that game was RB Joe Mixon. He carried 30 times and gained 159 yards and scored a touchdown. Mixon actually ended up the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
As good as Chicago's defense was in last week's win over Tennessee, the Bears still allowed 5.4 yards per carry. Houston will exploit that tonight. The Texans are 4-1 SU in their last five games and 7-2 SU in their last nine at home. I'll back the better quarterback on his home turf tonight.
