TENNESSEE @ MIAMI (MIA -2.5, 37.5)
TITANS (1H) +1.5
These are two of the worst offenses in the NFL. Miami will go with another backup quarterback, Tyler Huntley, who starts in place of the injured Tua Tagovailoa. Will Levis starts for the Titans. One thing Levis has been able to do is to keep Tennessee in games early.
Levis has made 12 NFL starts in his young career. He is 8-4 against the first half spread, including 2-1 so far this season. Teams that are 0-3 like the Titans are typically good bets in Week 4. Over the last 20 seasons, teams in this spot have covered the spread 60 percent of the time.
Miami has failed to cover the first half spread in each of their three games this season and going back to last season, they are 0-4 against the first half spread. With Huntley starting at quarterback, it will be difficult for the Dolphins to get going early.
SEATTLE @ DETROIT (DET -4.5, 46.5)
LIONS -4.5
The city of Detroit will be hopping tonight. The Tigers will be in the MLB playoffs for the first time in a decade. They'll play at Houston tomorrow. The Lions are off to a 2-1 start after making the NFC championship game last year. Detroit would love nothing more than to lay one on Seattle. The Seahawks have won six straight against the Lions. Seattle has beaten Detroit in each of the last three seasons, including the last two at Ford Field.
Seattle is off to a 3-0 start, but the wins are against Denver, New England, and a Miami team without starting QB Tua Tagovailoa. Speaking of quarterbacks, the edge tonight goes to Jared Goff. He's the most profitable NFL QB against the spread over the last nine seasons.
Goff is 73-53-2 ATS in his career. On extended rest, Goff is 13-4 ATS since 2020 and that includes covering the last six in a row. Goff is also 12-3 SU when playing at night at home. With the city of Detroit flying high, Goff and the Lions get it done in front of the home crowd.
TENNESSEE @ MIAMI (MIA -2.5, 37.5)
TYLER HUNTLEY OVER 25 RUSHING YARDS
As mentioned, Tyler Huntley will start at quarterback for Miami tonight. He was signed by the Dolphins on Sept. 17. There's just no way Huntley understands all of the nuances of the Miami offense. What he does understand is that he can simply pull the ball down and run it when he's unsure of what to do. It's something that Huntley is comfortable with.
Last week, the Titans gave up 73 rushing yards to Malik Willis of Green Bay. In his career, Huntley has gone Over 30 yards 10 times. In the nine games that he has started, Huntley has cleared 25 rushing yards seven times.
