Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens will head into MetLife Stadium this Sunday to take on the Giants in what is expected to be the most lopsided game of week 15. The Ravens sit just two wins behind the Steelers at second in the AFC North and are well-rested coming off of a bye week. The Giants, who are currently on an atrocious eight-game losing streak, don't have much to look forward to except the draft. Head Coach Brian Daboll announced earlier this week that Tommy DeVito will start at quarterback this Sunday instead of Drew Lock as the Giants look to snap their terrible skid.
While the Ravens are just 8-5 this season, their offense has looked near perfect. Baltimore leads the NFL in yards per game at 422.5 and in yards per play at 6.8. They're putting up an impressive 29.5 points per game, third in the NFL, and have the best red zone scoring percentage in the entire league at 75%. Their rushing attack, led by superstar Derrick Henry, has been nearly unstoppable in 2024, averaging the most yards per rush, at 5.7, and nearly 180 yards per game, which is second-best in that category. Henry has the second-most rushing yards in the NFL with 1,407 and is tied for the most rushing touchdowns this season at 13.
The Ravens passing attack, led by quarterback and MVP candidate Lamar Jackson, has been almost as good, leading the league in yards per pass at 8.7. Jackson has thrown for 3290 yards this season, with 29 touchdowns and only three interceptions, one of the best TD/INT ratios in the NFL. Baltimore also has the second-lowest interception rate in the NFL, at just .79%. The Giants, on the other hand, have had one of the ugliest offenses this season. With Daniel Jones leaving New York in the middle of the season and no true backup to step up and take his place, the numbers have just gotten worse. The Giants have the second-lowest completion percentage in the league at just 61.12% and are dead last in yards per pass at 5.8. We can't expect to see much better this weekend against the Ravens, where DeVito will make just his
second appearance of the 2024 season. DeVito has yet to throw a touchdown this season and finished with 21/31 passing for 189 yards in his singular appearance this season, a 30-7 beatdown suffered against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
To make matters worse, the Giant's defense is heading into what some might consider a "nightmare scenario," facing the best running attack in the NFL with one of the weakest run defenses in the league. New York allows over 140 yards on the ground per game and allows almost five yards per rush, the third-worst in the league. The 16-point spread on this game is the largest of the weekend, and it is warranted.
